MTV caught up with Young Jeezy. Speaking on his recent B.M.F. freestyle that everyone (myself included) took as a diss to Rick Ross.
It’s not a dis. First of all, I’m not gonna get nothing
out of dissing that guy. That’s one. What am I gonna get out of dissing
him? I think sometimes people can read into things too deep. They
trippin’, man. They crazy out there. Basically, if homie takes that as a
dis, he’s insecure, and anybody else out there who does, they are
insecure.
When asked about specif lines (“how you blowing money fast? you don’t
know the crew. oh you part of the fam? shit i never knew”) Jeezy said
the following… "That’s for real. That’s for anybody. I got niggas in
prison behind that shit. I feel that if you speaking on shit, you gotta
at least know who you talking about. That’s like niggas speaking on Cash
Money: If he ain’t never been a part of Cash Money, [then] I’mma speak
it better if I’m a part of Cash Money. To me, [Black Mafia Family] was
real. I know all the members. Who else would say a line like that but
me? I’m one of the few people who can say that, so I said it. That’s
real life, though. You gotta know the crew, baby. I thought that was the
purpose of the game: to get on records and talk your shit, right?"
Subliminals, for what? What’s understood ain’t gotta be said. I
didn’t think people would take the record like that. I did it like I
would have any Shawty Lo record, any Rocko record, whoever. I got on
[Ross' beat] and did it like how I do it, the best way I know how. I
don’t know if because the BMF situation is for real for me that
everybody is like, ‘Ooh. Oh, shit.’ Twitter is a muthafucka, by the way.
Jeezy also says that he recorded B.M.F. (The Real Blowin’ Money Fast) before Ross’ version came out. And that he decided to take it off TM103 after hearing Rozay’s shit. Y’all buying any of this? Anyways, 1,000 Grams drops this Thursday. With freestyles over Soulja Boy’s Pretty Boy Swag, Kanye West’s Power, as well as some Clipse and Young Money instrumentals.
It must be the routine for rappers to go through a name change when they get to a particular point in their career. Bow Wow dropped the “Lil” , Killer Mike became "Mike Bigga", Game dropped “The” and Diddy has changed his name as often as people change their drawers throughout the week. Maybe instead of dropping names, folks should be dropping albums and mixtapes before they get dropped by their respective labels. The latest rapper to do a little spring cleaning and do away with the old is Young Jeezy as he is looking to change his rap alias. Once known to the world as Young Jeezy, now Hip-Hop is best to refer to him as simply being Jeezy, as he is stripping away the “Young”. It is boggling how rappers believe that stuff like this is really important, but since it makes the news, it must have some type of interest to someone, somewhere. To whoever is concerned, the name was first changed on the credits to Rihanna's single “Hard” and it became official after the release of his street single “Lose My Mind” from Thug Motivation 103 on the promotional cover art for the track. Well, now that he's shed some pounds and lost the burden of “Young”, hopefully the music will start flowing and the fans will be blessed to the DJ Drama assisted mixtape sequel, Trap Or Die 2.
Once we all thought the beef was over between the two this happens..
Associates of Gucci Mane and Young Jeezy decided to shoot it out in Atlanta last night. Pop the hood for more. Young Jeezy and Gucci Mane have dissolved their peace treaty, well at least their entourages have. At around 4 p.m. Thursday (March 4), police were called to Walter’s Clothing in downtown Atlanta after a report of gunfire that lasted nearly 30 minutes. The fight started when Gucci Mane’s 1017 Brick Squad walked into the store — popular with celebrities — and spotted Young Jeezy’s CTE, said witness Patrick Morrison. “There was a physical altercation inside the location between several men,” Atlanta Police spokesman James Polite confirmed to the AJC. One of the men produced a weapon “and as a result a private armed security guard of a local entertainer discharged his weapon.” Although shots were fired during the altercation, it was reported that no one was hurt. The fighting was intense, witnesses said. “They just started going at it,” said Morrison, a Walter’s employee. According to police, the security guard, employed by Waka Flocka Flame, is the only member detained after the incident.
